Jazz Bands at Grand Rapids High School have a rich tradition of excellence.  Students have multiple opportunities to perform in jazz, from Jazz One which meets as a class daily to Jazz Combos and Jazzam which meets outside of the school day.  Grand Rapids Jazz Bands have hosted a jazz festival for over 30 years and have been on stage with some of the best performers in the world.

The program has had the honor to be a part of many other perfomances in Grand Rapids, including the Maynard Fergusion Band, Tommy Igoe and the Birdland Big Band, The Cab Calloway Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Rhythm and Brass, Transit Authority and the list goes on.  In addition to that, Jazz Ensemble was a featured performing group on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor in 2012, a tremendous honor for us.
